Algebraic geometry is a central field of mathematics. It has strong connections with many other fields within and outside mathematics s uch as algebra, number theory, differential geometry, topology, physics, computer science, etc. In this talk I will start with introducing algebr aic geometry and then explain some of those connections.
报告人简介：
Caucher Birkar （考切尔 比尔卡尔），英国剑桥大学教授，师从美国约翰霍普金斯大学Shokurov教授，从事代数几何中双有理几何学的研究。与Ca scini，Hacon和 McKernan的合作工作中，分类了一般型代数簇，这项工作是双有理代数几何领域的重大突破。2006年，他获得了英国 Leverhulme奖。2016年，他获得美国数学会Moore研究论文奖。2016年，Birkar独立解决了关于法诺代数簇的重要猜想BAB猜想。由于在BAB猜想以及他在双有理代数几何中的重要贡献，他于2018年获得了数学界最高奖项——菲尔兹奖（Fields Medal）。
