报告摘要：We present a semiclassical description of surface waves traveling in stratified elastic medium. This semiclassical perspective is known to the geophysical community as the slow variational principle, and its mathematically rigorous framework was proposed by Colin de Verdiere (for acoustics). I will also talk about related inverse spectral problems, that are to use the dispersion relations of surface waves to explore the subsurface structure.
报告人简介： 翟剑，复旦大学青年副研究员。2018年博士毕业于美国莱斯大学，之后在华盛顿大学以及香港科技大学从事博士后研究。2021年起在复旦大学任青年副研究员。2021年入选国家级海外青年人才项目。主要研究方向为反问题的理论分析及计算方法，特别是和地球物理学相关的弹性波方程反问题的数学理论。相关成果发表在Trans. A.M.S.，JMPA，Comm. P.D.E.，SIAM J. Appl. Math.，Inverse Problems等期刊上。
